Frankly Gin Strikes Gold (and Silver, and Bronze) at the 2025 Sydney Royal

We’ve got some very exciting news to share — Frankly Gin has walked away from the 2025 Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show with not one, not two, but three medals. 🥂

Our bold and beautiful gins shone brightly in front of the judges, proving that whether you prefer heavenly smoothness, timeless tradition, or fiery intensity, Frankly Gin delivers with award-winning flair.

Here’s how our line-up stacked up:

👼 Heaven – Gold Medal (Class 1 Classic Gin)
Smooth, uplifting, and elegantly balanced, Heaven soared above the competition to claim the top prize.

🏛 Heritage – Silver Medal (Class 2 Contemporary Gin)
Honouring tradition while celebrating craftsmanship, Heritage earned a well-deserved silver.

🔥 Hell – Bronze Medal (Class 4 Navy Gin)
Bold, daring, and unapologetically cheeky, Hell set the competition alight with its bronze finish.

Winning across three very different styles is a testament to what we stand for at Frankly Gin: quality, creativity, and flavour without compromise. We’re thrilled to see our spirits recognised on one of Australia’s most prestigious stages — and we couldn’t have done it without our incredible supporters who sip, share, and celebrate with us every day.

So whether you’re in the mood for Heaven, feeling a little fiery like Hell, or want to connect with your Heritage — now’s the perfect time to raise a glass to our award-winning range.

Frankly speaking, it’s triple the reason to celebrate.

Frankly Gin, the dark horse who took out the Champion Gin at the 2021 Royal Australian Spirit Awards

Frankly Gin, a South Australian owned and locally distilled new gin, scooped the pool at the recent Royal Australian Spirit Awards winning:

  • Champion Gin – Dry Citrus
  • Champion Small Batch – Dry Citrus
  • Gold medal - Dry Citrus Gin
  • Silver medal - Dry Myrtle Gin

After two years of development, brother and sister, Frank and Berni Woods, are now looking forward to launching Frankly Gin in time for Christmas. Originally from the Riverland, they believed they had created something special and threw their hats into the ring at the recent Royal Australian Spirit Awards just to see where Frankly Gin sat amongst its competitors.

“We are still in shock, but extremely proud to be recognised alongside some of the best distillers in South Australia…it’s our dream come true “ said Frank Woods following the Awards.

It's another GOLD for Frankly Gin! 🥇

The 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition results are in and we are over the moon to say the least!!

We thought we would brave the international ring by throwing our Dry Citrus in to see where we sat and we came out with some shiny new bling! It only makes sense that it matches our gold foil label!

The oldest and most prestigious spirits competition certainly had an enormous line up of quality Aussie spirits to judge with an enormous 119 medals won overall! It just goes to show what incredibly talented Distillers we have here in Australia! Congratulations to everyone who participated, we really are one lucky country!

Now to go and celebrate! 🎉
